Thomas CHOPARD

Thomas Chopard is a specialist in the history of Soviet Ukraine and Eastern European Jewish populations. He is the author of a dissertation entitled: “War on Civilians. Violence against the Jewish populations of Ukraine (1917-1924): all-out war, occupations, insurrections, pogroms,” defended in 2015 under the direction of Alain Blum (EHESS). A former post-doctoral fellow in the Institute of Historical Research in London, then at the Wiesenthal Institute for Holocaust Studies in Vienna, Thomas Chopard is a member of the project Lubartworld, supervised by Claire Zalc. Associate researcher at the French Collaborative Institute on Migration and at the Institute of Historical Research, he now studies Jewish migrations in central and eastern Europe during the first half of the XXth century.
