Ada ACKERMAN

Ada Ackerman is a researcher at the CNRS (THALIM). She is a specialist on Sergei Eisenstein, with her work focusing on the relations between cinema and the fine arts, in addition to intermediality and cultural transfers between Russia, Europe, and the United States. She has published Eisenstein et Daumier, des affinités électives (Armand Colin, 2013) and A Biblioteca infinita de Serguei Eisenstein/ The Endless Library of Sergei Eisenstein (Kinoruss, 2019). She is currently preparing Reading with Eisenstein, a collective work devoted to Eisenstein’s library and reading. She curated the exhibition “Golem! Avatars d’une légende d’argile” (2017, Golem! Avatars of a Legend of Clay) at the Musée d’art et d’histoire du judaïsme, for which she edited the exhibition catalog. She is at work on a literary anthology of the Golem. She also curated the exhibition The Ecstatic Eye: Eisenstein, a filmmaker at the crossroads of arts for the Centre Pompidou-Metz (2019-2020), and edited the catalogue.
