Alexandre ELSIG

Alexandre Elsig is a postdoctoral researcher in Modern History at the University of Lausanne. He is currently conducting research on industrial pollution in the Alpine space as part of the Interdisciplinary Centre for Mountain Research and the Rhône-Alpes Historical Research Laboratory. His current research (2020-2024), which is affiliated with the Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne, focuses on the negotiation of ecotoxicological standards during the postwar period. He is a member of the editorial board for Cahiers d’histoire du mouvement ouvrier and Traverse, revue d’histoire.

His primary publications include: with Marianne Enckell and Magali Pittet, Pour une histoire ouvrière de l’environnement, AÉHMO, 2019; Les shrapnels du mensonge. La Suisse face à la propagande allemande de la Grande Guerre, Lausanne, Antipodes, 2017; and La Ligue d’action du bâtiment. L’anarchisme à la conquête des chantiers genevois de l’entre-deux-guerres, Lausanne, Éditions d’en bas, 2015.
