Beatriz MARTINEZ-RIUS

Beatriz Martinez-Rius is a PhD student at Sorbonne university. She holds a BSc in Environmental Biology and an MA in History of Science and Technology (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona). In her research, she examines the history of marine geosciences during the Cold War, focusing on the influence of offshore oil prospection on the Mediterranean's scientific exploration. Her research interests entangle the oceans' history with environmental history and diplomacy. She recently published in Berichte zur Wissenschaftsgeschichte on Oceanography and Franco‐American Scientific Diplomacy in the Cold War from 1958–1970.
