Benoît POUGET

The holder of an agrégation, Benoît Pouget is an Associate Professor in Modern History at the Faculté des sciences médicales et paramédicales d’Aix-Marseille Université. He is a member of the “Medicolegal anthropology” team at l’UMR 7268 (Ades), where he contributes to research on the “Anthropologies of mass death.” He is also an associate researcher at CHERPA (EA 4231) and the Service historique de la Défense. His research focuses on contexts of extreme violence and crisis mortality (epidemics, wars), in addition to medical and health circulations. He works essentially on the Mediterranean and African contexts from the nineteenth to twenty-first century.
