Éric ROULET

Éric Roulet is a professor of modern history at the University of the Littoral-Côte d’Opale. His work focuses on the genesis of colonial societies in Central America and the Caribbean, particularly in Mexico (16th century) and the French West Indies (17th century). It explores the social and cultural components of the development of European models in the Americas (evangelization of Native Americans, race-mixing, acculturation) and the reorganization of spaces and exchanges. His book, L’évangélisation des Indiens du Mexique (the evangelization of Mexico’s Native Americans) was published in 2008.
