Fabrice CAHEN

Fabrice Cahen is a research fellow at l’Institut national d’études démographiques as well as a member of the Esopp collective (École des hautes études en sciences sociales). A historian specializing in birth, he is particularly interested in the social production and institutional regulation of human life. In 2016 he published Gouverner les mœurs. La lutte contre l’avortement en France, 1890-1950 (Paris: Éditions de l’Ined, PUF), and is currently working on the struggle against infertility, the emergence of medically assisted procreation, prenatal monitoring, and medical treatment of hereditary issues in twentieth-century France.
