Hélène VU THANH

Hélène Vu Thanh is Associate Professor of early modern history at the Université de Bretagne-Sud (TEMOS CNRS), and a member of the Institut universitaire de France. She is a specialist on Catholic missions in Japan and the Iberian presence in Asia during the early modern period. Her current research focuses on the financing of religious orders inside and outside of Japan, as part of a global and local perspective (sixteenth-seventeenth century). She has notably published Devenir japonais. La mission jésuite au Japon (Paris, PUPS, 2016), in addition to articles in French and English.
