Helen PIEL

Helen Piel is based at the Research Institute for the History of Science and Technology at the Deutsches Museum in Munich, Germany. She is interested in the history of cognitive science, artificial intelligence, and biology. Her recent projects researched the development of cognitive science in West Germany (Deutsches Museum, 2020-2024) and the life and work of evolutionary biologist John Maynard Smith (University of Leeds & British Library, 2016-2019). She holds a PhD from the University of Leeds.
