Hugo VERMEREN

Hugo Vermeren is a member of l’École française de Rome, and is a specialist on the colonial Maghreb, international migrations, and intercommunal relations in Italy. He is the author of Les Italiens à Bône. Migration méditerranéenne et colonisation des peuples en Algérie (1865-1940) (Rome: École française de Rome, 2017). He coordinated, with Delphine Diaz, the special issue “Éloigner et expulser les étrangers au xix^e siècle” (Diasporas 33, 2019). His current research focuses on the governance of halieutic resources in the Maghreb, as well as the mobilities of fishermen in the Mediterranean during the nineteenth century.
