Jérôme DE LA GORCE

Jérôme de La Gorce is a Director of Research at the CNRS and member of the centre André-Chastel (UMR 8150), and also teaches art history at the University Paris-Sorbonne. He is a specialist in the dramatic music and performing arts in France during the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. In addition to publishing numerous articles, he is the author of monographs: Berain, dessinateur du Roi Soleil (Paris, Herscher, 1986), Jean-Baptiste Lully (Paris: Fayard, 2002, prix de l’Académie des beaux-arts), Vigarani, intendant des plaisirs de Louis XIV (Paris: Perrin, 2005). He has also published the exhibition catalogs Dans l’atelier des Menus Plaisirs du roi (with Pierre Jugie, Versailles: Artlys, 2010) and Fastes de cour au xviie siècle. Costumes de Bellange et de Berain (with Paulette Choné, Paris: Éditions Monelle Hayot, 2015).
