Manuela MARTINI

Manuela Martini is a Professor of Modern History at l’université Lumière Lyon 2, and President of the French Economic History Association. Her research is at the intersection of women’s and gender history, labor history, and migration history. She is a contributor to numerous international research programs, and is a member of the editorial committee of the journal Gender & History and the editorial board of Genesis. Rivista della Società italiana delle storiche, as well as the co-director of the “Gender” thematic research focus at l’université Lyon 2. She has published numerous works on the history of small businesses, the family economy, and the work of migrating men and women, including Bâtiment en famille. Migrations et petite entreprise en banlieue parisienne au xxe siècle (Paris, CNRS éditions, 2016), and a special issue co-edited with Sumita Mukherjee entitled “Migration, Institutions and Intimate Lives: Towards a New Agenda” for the journal Gender & History 31 (2019): 3.
