Marie DERRIEN

Adjunct professor of contemporary history at the University of Lille, member of the Septentrion Historical Research Institute, Marie Derrien defended her dissertation, on soldiers in the Great War who were interned in French psychiatric wards from 1914 to the 1980s, in 2015. Her research focuses on the history of madness and measures for assisting the mentally ill, particularly on alternatives to internment.
