Marja ALASTALO

Marja Alastalo is Senior Lecturer in sociology at the Department of Social Sciences, University of Eastern Finland. She has investigated state knowledge practices and governance by numbers. In her empirical studies, she has focused on population and migration statistics, indicators, standardization of statistics in the EU and social research methods. Her current research focuses on the datafication of public healthcare and social services.
