Matthieu Brejon de Lavergnée is Associate Professor in Modern History at Sorbonne Université, and a member of the Centre de recherches en histoire du xixe siècle. He is currently preparing a Histoire des Filles de la Charité over the longue durée, of which the first volume has already been published (La rue pour cloître, xviie-xviiie siècle (Paris: Fayard, 2011), and the second volume is forthcoming (Le temps des cornettes, xixe-xxe siècle (Paris: Fayard, forthcoming). He has also co-edited, with Magali Della Sudda, Genre et christianisme. Plaidoyers pour une histoire croisée (Paris: Beauchesne, 2015).
