Mireille NYS

Mireille Nys is Associate Professor of Early Modern Art History at l’université d’Aix-Marseille, and a specialist on the art of gardens, especially the art of the classical garden in Provence during the early modern period. She teaches the history of early modern architecture and gardens, and also serves as the educational supervisor for academic training in the built heritage. Her doctoral thesis in early modern art history, which she completed at l’Université de Provence in 2000, is entitled: “Recherches sur les formes du jardin classique en Basse-Provence aux xviie et xviiie siècles : reflets d’une société” (published as: Le jardin classique en Provence méridionale , intro. Michel Baridon, Aix-en-Provence: Édisud, 2002).
