Nicola SBETTI
The holder of a doctorate in political science, Nicola Sbetti currently works at the University of Bologna as a lecturer in modern history. His research focuses on the history of international sport, especially its relation to politics in Italy and international sport institutions. He recently published (co-written with Riccard Brizzi) a book on the political history of the Football World Cup (Le Monnier, 2019). Since 2012 he has written many articles in Italian and English appearing in international academic journals, and also co-edited Beyond Boycotts: Sport during the Cold War in Europe (De Gruyter, 2017). His has just pushlished Giochi diplomatici. Sport e politica estera nell’Italia del secondo dopoguerra (1943-1953) (Viela, 2020).
