Sidonie VERHAEGHE

Sidonie Verhaeghe is an associate professor of political science at the University of Lille and a researcher at CERAPS (UMR 8026). Specializing in the social history of political ideas (especially anarchist and feminist ones) and of what left-wing parties and movements choose to commemorate, in 2016 she defended a thesis about Louise Michel and what she represents. Verhaeghe’s published work includes Vive Louise Michel ! Célébrité et postérité d’une figure anarchiste (“Long Live Louise Michel! Fame and Posterity of an Anarchist Figure”) (Éditions du Croquant, 2021), and the preface of a recent edition of Louise Michel’s La Commune (Paris, Éditions du Détour, 2020).
