Konstantinos ELEFTHERIADIS

Konstantinos Eleftheriadis has served as a post-doctoral research fellow in the CEMS/IMM at l’EHESS since 2016. His thesis, which he defended at l’Institut universitaire européen in Florence in 2014 under the direction of Donatella Della Porta, was published under the title Queer Festivals: Challenging Collective Identities in a Transnational Europe (Amsterdam University Press, 2018). The work analyzes the queer paradox: how do queer militants mobilize on the transnational level while rejecting fixed gender and sexual identifications?

After serving as a post-doctoral researcher at the Scuola Normale Superiore as part of the Mobilizing4Democracy (2015-2016) European project, he is currently working on the mobilization of counter-publics, understood as oppositional discourses within the public sphere, along with how they are handled by institutions (project entitled “Nous ne sommes pas Charlie: pour une sociologie de contre-publics”). He has published in a number of journals such as International Journal of Politics, Culture and Society, and L’homme et la société, as well as in numerous collective works.
