Sara CASELLA COLOMBEAU

Sara Casella Colombeau is a postdoctoral researcher at the Institut Convergences Migrations. In 2013 she defended a dissertation in political science on the French border police and its development upon the creation of the Schengen Area. Her research has explored the daily work of police officers at the French-Italian border before and after the opening of borders in 1997 (article published in Policing & Society in 2015), as well as during the times of migratory crisis in 2011 and 2015 (article published in Journal of Ethnic and Migration Studies in 2019). Her research has also focused on how police knowledge is transmitted within the administration, as well as how it is used in the definition of immigration policies (see article published in 2017 in Cultures et Conflits).
