The holder of an agrégation in history, Yann Rodier is Assistant Professor and Director of the History Department at the Sorbonne University in Abu Dhabi (SUAD). He completed a thesis devoted to La raison de lodieux. Essai sur lhistoire dune passion : la haine dans la France du premier xviie siècle at Paris Sorbonne. This work focuses on the history of the sciences of passion, the history of emotions with a particular emphasis on xenophobia, and the history of stereotypes and prejudice. His postdoctoral research seeks to broaden his perspective by studying Gypsy minorities in Europe. Another ongoing research project in the Emirates has explored French diplomacy in the Gulf (Persian, Sultanate of Oman, Yemen) to protect Christian minorities during the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.
